Fight against Smoking Just Got Better

Post October 2, smoking people will find it very difficult to find a smoking zone in India. The health department of the country has taken a very positive step by banning smoking in public places, offices and eating zones.
Smoking is real threat for the heath of the country with around 12 crore of its total population affected by this hazardous addiction. Nearly 2000 people die everyday in India because of smoking, which puts it into the category of an epidemic.
The best part is that the common people have taken the ban heartily. They are very happy with the decision. According to a survey lot of people in metros want to eat in a healthy, smoke-free environment.
The results of the survey were as follows-
83 per cent of surveyed people said that smoke-free restaurants would be very healthy.
84 per cent felt that second-hand smoke is a serious health hazard.
An astounding 92 per cent strongly supported the step taken by the health ministry of the country to ban smoking in offices and public places.
Health is becoming a primary concern for people and people nowadays tend to understand the hazards of active and passive smoking. Some recent tests have proved that passive smoking can also cause cardiac disease
The fact that 70 per cent of smokers want to give up smoking is very positive. People can quit smoking by taking effective pills like Chantix; they can also control it through their will power or by joining a rehab center.
Johnson & Johnson, a famous healthcare company, completely banned smoking on its premises a couple of years ago and met with inspiring results. The adult smoking population in India is 30 per cent but in Johnson & Johnson it is just between three to five per cent.
The step to ban smoking has been taken at a perfect time. Lets hope that this will help create a healthy country and world.
